Kinetek
eliminates die inking
The Inkless Inspection Station was developed specifically to address
post-dicing inspection requirements and to eliminate the need for inking
bad die. This station can read in a variety of electrical test data
including any updated information from first optical inspection. The
operator can do an overall inspection of the wafer and/or scan the streets
to inspect die for chip and crack damage from the saw process. Kerf width
and straightness can be monitored as well. Street selection for inspection
can be determined from a pre-programmed inspection routine or by
interactive operator selection (both front and back). Bad die
information is then electronically added to the data file, which is then
made available to yield management or other tools via Ethernet or disk. |

Microscope
options Unlike some of our competitors, we aren't limited to a
particular brand of microscope. The stations can be configured with a
variety of optical microscopes using various imaging solutions along with live video on modern, high-resolution, flat-panel
displays. |

Hardware
options Options include a single or dual arm robot capable of
flipping the wafer for backside inspection. Special end effectors for
gripping steel frames are available for handling mounted wafers. Staging
option and optical configurations can vary to suit the application. |

Flexibility
Kinetek Inkless Stations can be changed easily and quickly to accommodate
other sets of classification criteria. Wafer map data can be downloaded
from various sources for immediate inspection. The bin codes are
user-defined, and the revised wafer map can be uploaded to your database
or other destination for immediate use. |

Supporting control software
Supporting hardware control software is developed and tested in-house on a station
configured to your specifications so you are assured that your station
performs as it should.
